Hitchin Hackspace has been up and running for 5 years, using a rented building one night a week. We finally have a space of our own, but it’s a disused public toilet, so there’s a lot of work needed.
We’ve applied for a grant from the Aviva Community Fund. Organisations are invited to submit a request for funding. There is then a public vote, and the projects which get the most votes are put forward to a judging panel for approval.
As far as we can tell, we seem to be the only Hackspace which has applied for funding.
